Ciara Smith, running to be Mayor of Anniston, Alabama, has served as vice mayor of Anniston for almost five years before being elevated to the role of mayor in May, following the resignation of her predecessor. Smith has earned the support of her constituents by showing she had her finger on the pulse of the needs of hardworking families and community members. She is the first Black mayor of Anniston and the second woman to ever serve in the position.
