Peter Hubbard is running for election to the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) in District 3. The PSC is the state’s elected body responsible for setting rates for utilities like electricity, gas and telecommunications. Hubbard has deep knowledge of the energy industry, having founded the Georgia Center for Energy Solutions in 2015, which conducted independent analyses of the state’s proposed power strategies. In expert testimony provided to the PSC, he has highlighted the need to strengthen Georgia’s power grid with clean energy and battery storage, which he argues could help lower utility costs for residents. During his campaign, Hubbard also pledged not to take any contributions from oil, gas and coal industry executives, lobbyists or PACs.
