SPLC Action Fund Endorses Ken Featherstone for Reelection

JACKSON, Miss. — Today, the SPLC Action Fund endorsed Ken Featherstone, who is seeking a second term as mayor of Indianola, Mississippi.

In his time as mayor of Indianola, Featherstone has prioritized a five-point plan to improve the city, focused on reducing and preventing crime, providing more services for youth, supporting the health and wellness of seniors, investing in economic development and committing to better public relations. Some of his accomplishments since entering office include raising the minimum wage for city employees, establishing numerous community events to provide safe social activities for youth and creating a Community Emergency Response Team to support residents affected by severe weather events and natural disasters.

“The people of Indianola made the right choice when they elected Ken Featherstone to serve as mayor of their city, and this November gives them the opportunity to double down on that smart decision by sending him back to office for another term,” said Madison Hollon, program manager of political campaigns, SPLC Action Fund. “Featherstone has a strong vision and a clear plan for how to make Indianola a better place to live for all of its residents, as well as a proven track record of delivering real results. If he is given the opportunity to build on the groundwork that he has already laid, the city has a strong future ahead.”

The upcoming election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
