4. We have seen a dangerous rise in far-right extremism and attempts to delegitimize our country’s democracy. If elected, how will you help ensure an equitable civic education for students?(Required)

The educational needs of children of color are disproportionately disregarded and they are often targeted for harsher discipline, such as suspension, expulsion, involuntary psychiatric examination and arrest, for typical youth behavior. Such neglect and/or exclusionary discipline causes students to fall behind grade level or drop out of school entirely, increasing their risk of interacting with law enforcement and the criminal legal system. What will you do to end excessive and discriminatory school discipline practices that frequently push students of color out of the classroom?(Required)

6. The extremist group, Moms For Liberty, continuously attacks the inclusion of hard histories and diverse perspectives in school curriculum, and targets members of the LGBTQ+ community. As a School Board member, how will you advocate for LGBTQ+ inclusion and end curriculum censorship and book bans in schools?(Required)
