MIAMI — Today, the SPLC Action Fund endorsed an additional five candidates in their upcoming races for seats on school boards throughout Florida. The following candidates received endorsements:
- Jimmy Glover, Sarasota County School Board, District 1
- Debbie Jordan, Lee County School Board, District 4
- Beth Mayberry, Sarasota County School Board, District 5
- Megan Tennimon, Sarasota County School Board, District 4
- Nancy Velardi, Pinellas County School Board, District 2
“Public education works best when school board leaders are focused on what students and teachers need to succeed,” said Madison Hollon, senior program manager of political campaigns, SPLC Action Fund. “We are proud to support each of these candidates whose platforms focus on expanding learning opportunities and skill-building for students to better prepare them for the next phases of their lives. Their voices will be critical in helping ensure Florida’s public schools remain welcoming, safe, effective and committed to delivering a high-quality education to every student.”
