The following statement is from Brandon Jones, director of SPLC Action Fund Political Campaigns:
“The SPLC Action Fund knows that decisions made at the local level directly impact the lives of Floridians in so many ways. The work of local officials can also have a profound impact on state and federal leaders. This slate of 14 candidates from throughout the state offers the opportunity for dynamic leadership that will work toward our shared goal of equality.
“The SPLC Action Fund hopes to work with all of these leaders on equal funding for infrastructure and public schools; ensuring everyone has access to healthcare and the safeguarding of voting rights. By working together, we can create a more equal society where everyone is treated with dignity, respect and compassion.”
