SPLC ACTION FUND ENDORSES TWO MISSISSIPPI CANDIDATES  

SPLC Action Fund Supports Local School Board Candidates in Mission to Dismantle White Supremacy, Strengthen Racial Justice and Advance Human Rights  

JACKSON, Miss. – Today, the SPLC Action Fund endorsed two candidates running for school board in Mississippi. The SPLC Action Fund believes these candidates will serve as the best partners to achieve a fair education system in these districts.

The following statement is from Brandon Jones, director of SPLC Action Fund Political Campaigns:  
 
“The SPLC Action Fund recognizes the importance of the Jasper and Kemper County school boards in making critical decisions that affect the future of Mississippi. By exercising their right to vote, Mississippians can achieve their vision for a fair and equitable education system across the state.  
 
“From choosing curriculum, to electing superintendents and adopting district-wide policies; school boards are essential to ensuring Mississippi children receive the quality education they deserve. We are endorsing these candidates based on their commitment to the schools and students in their respective districts. 
 
“The SPLC Action Fund endeavors to work with the selected candidates on issues of civil and human rights, infrastructure, and resource funding for public schools. These goals can be achieved by collaborative partnership that puts the needs of Mississippians first.
